Ferlin G. McGaskey is the Assistant Director of the Tennessee Teaching and Learning Center (TennTLC) and co-designed and directs of the TennTLC’s Graduate Teaching Certification Program. Dr. McGaskey earned graduate degrees to include a Masters in Economics and a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration, both from the University of Tennessee. He has spent the past four years working in teaching and learning centers at the University of Tennessee and the University of Texas-Austin. His primary interest as a faculty developer is centered on graduate students as teachers and emerging scholars.
His research interests include the academic, personal, and professional experiences of graduate students with a particular focus on international and students of color. Dr. McGaskey has been directly involved in writing and securing national research grants. He is a Southern Regional Education Board Scholar and is a member of the American Educational Research Association, the Association for the Study of Higher Education, and the Association of Institutional Research.
